Sept Challenge

September 1, 2012

Hello All!

So, Sept is my birthday month and I wanted to be back in a certain size. That goal didn't happen. I still believe it was from the extra running b/c I lost everywhere but my thighs. This month I'm going super hard. My 35th birthday is on the 28th and I must have a better body.

My goal for this month is to eat as clean Low Carb as I can. That includes fruits, veggies, and meats. I'm going to cut back on my frying. I still lose when I have my buffalo wings but I'm going to do more baking this month. Plus, my baked version of wings are just as good. I'm having some tonight as a matter of fact. I'm also trying to cut back on my peanut butter and plantain consumption. I've discovered that homemade banana ice cream over plantains, topped with peanut butter, SF fudge, and coconut is quite addictive. Delicious but I think I went a little over board on a very good thing. hehe

Anywho, here are my plans:

  • Juice no more than twice a day followed with protein
  • Stay consistent with my water intake and cut back on flavor packets in my water
  • Exercise 5-6 days per week
  • Eat clean LC
  • Get more sleep (even if I have to take my sleep meds)
  • Stretch daily (yoga or basic stretching)
  • No eating out unless I'm with friends
  •
  •
If anyone would care to join me, you are welcome to do so. I will be back tomorrow with pics and measurements.

XOXO,

Tiki

This sounds amazingly dope! I am in as of today. At the beginning of the summer I was swimming in my clothes. Now I noticed there isn't as much room in them. No bueno. I have a few questions...

1. I blend my juices but can you recommend a juicer that's less than $100 and still good? I know it's messy overall, don't mind the clean up. Just don't have a ton to spend on a juicer right now.
2. How much water do you typically drink on a good day? I think my intake is low but I generally don't drink a lot so I make sure most of it is water.
3. By exercise 5-6 days/week is that running AND weight training?
4. Do you stretch cold muscles? I've always been told that you should only stretch warm muscles so on the days you don't workout will you warm up before you stretch?

Simmi I thought about it. I did join the no meat challenge. I'm going to post about that one day this week

Curls and Mo- I have the Jack Lalanne and it was right at $100. Before that I had a hamilton beach. The wide mouth one is supposed to be a good one. As for water, I only drink 1/2 gallon. I can't drink as much as most people b/c I have bad kidneys. I add peach flavor to the gallon jug and that helps a ton. The 5-6 times per week is both. I have been just running and it's time to at strength training in. I'm going to a pilates class this week. When I stretch it's after a brief warm up b/c I was told the same about stretching cold muscles. I sometimes stretch after the first .4 miles of a run to make sure I'm good and warmed up. However, if I'm going yoga or just stretches that's different. Hope I answered all of your questions. If not please email me, lowcarbtiki@yahoo.com
