Challenge Accepted: The FiberChoice 30 Day Get Picky Challenge

Losing weight and maintaining weight loss is not for the faint of heart. It truly takes hard work and dedication but for some of us there are challenges and obstacles beyond our control that makes the process much more difficult. I've been on my journey to living a healthy life for awhile now and I decided to changes things up to give myself that extra boost. 




It is less than 60 days before my next birthday and I am determined to make my mini weight loss goal. To kickstart my efforts, I joined the FiberChoice 30 Day Get Picky Challenge. I will be the first to admit I do not consume as much fiber as I should on a daily basis. I am not a big fruit eater and we all know I eat the same veggies almost everyday. OK, I confess...I've even skipped veggies a few days. 





So, joining the challenge seemed perfect for me because it is a great way to increase my fiber intake and keep my tummy happy. FiberChoice contains 100% natural fiber...makes me feel less like a science experiment. The prebiotics in FiberChoice tablets boost the growth of the good bacteria (probiotics) in the digestive track and I can't tell you how important this is for me or anyone with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I have tried fiber supplements in the past but they have been gritty or chalky, neither of which I find appealing. 

The only issue for me was deciding which product to choose for the challenge. FiberChoice comes in five varieties: Fiber Choice® chewable tablets; Fiber Choice® Fruity Bites; Fiber Choice® Weight Management; Fiber Choice® Plus Calcium and Fiber Choice® Plus Antioxidant." I was torn between the Fruity Bites and the Weight Management formulas but I decided to try the weight management formula. After comparing each formula, it made sense to go with the formula that would help with my weight loss journey. I can add fiber to my diet, curb my cravings, and rid myself of the gritty mix that has been sitting in my cabinet forever. Yeah, I think that works for me. Did I mention the tablets are sugar free and strawberry flavored? Oh yeah! I opened the bottle and knew I made the right choice. The sweet smell of strawberry! I was ready to dig in but I remembered I wanted to wait and start with a morning dose...so I resisted the urge.  



My plan is to take Fiber Choice® Weight Management with breakfast and dinner. According to the instructions, this helps with reducing stomach discomfort. I have not noticed any unusual bloating or discomfort so far. Also, I changed my workouts to a lower impact workout that I can do at home. I will tell you more about that later. Lastly, I will continue to prepare all of my meals for the week at one time. I realized it only takes a few hours to prepare and portion everything for the week and I do not have to worry about it each day. This has worked out perfectly on the days I don't have enough energy to cook. I keep everything in the freezer and take it out the night before. It is my healthy version of a frozen dinner.
