Caramel MATCHAccino Review

January 19, 2014

Last week, I reviewed the Caramel Matcha Tea. I was curious about the difference in flavor between that product and the Caramel Matchaccino. The only difference I could see was in the preparation. So, when I was presented with the opportunity to review the MATCHAccino, I agreed. I guess curiosity got the best of me. Plus, I'm determined to find products that keep me away from the calorie filled goodies that I love so much.

What they say:

"Have your MATCHAccino your way! Easy to make for those on the go. Caramel MATCHAccino is a flavored green tea matcha latte that is full of caramel flavor that matches that of a crème brûlée, or caramelized sugar. Some say it taste similar to old fashioned caramel candies their grandparents savored.

What I say:

Price: 5oz - $13.99 and 10oz $37.98

The Caramel MATCHAccino has more options available on the quality of matcha. Also, you can chose the standard blend or the Stevia blend. So, to me the pricing on this item is a little better and it can be customized a little more than the Caramel Matcha Tea.

Preparation:
I also like the ease of preparing this matcha better; because, I just have to add ice, milk, matcha and shake. Simple enough. I think my blender got a little upset that I didn't need it this time but oh well.

Now the description above is directly from the Red Leaf Tea site. I knew the Caramel Matcha Tea reminded me of a Werther's candy. So, I wanted to know if this one really tasted like a caramel candy or creme brulee, one of my fav desserts.

Well, the Caramel MATCHAccino is definitely different than the Caramel Matcha. I gave the MATCHAccino powder a sniff as soon as I opened the packet. I immediately notice the smell was different and stronger than the Matcha Tea. The MATCHAccino has a creamier taste to it and more of the matcha tea flavor. For a second, I almost thought I tasted a hint of expresso flavor. I'm not sure about that but it does have it's own flavor which is what I was curious about.

The nutritional values are still better than the Starbucks version but not good enough if you are in the beginning stages of low carb. If you are low carbing, I would not suggest this until you have more daily caloreis. It has 45 calories, 15 grs of carbs with cane sugar being first in the list of ingredients.

This is a great product but I would go with the Caramel Matcha Tea from my review last week.

Do you think you will give this product a try? Have you tried this or other Red Leaf products?

I received the product mentioned above for free review. I only recommend products I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Umm nope, I think I would pass on this drink. Doesn't seems like it smelled or taste good. Thanks for stopping by WOW Link Up today.

I'm a personal trainer visiting from the WOW Linkup :) Looks like a cool drink. I actually enjoy drinks that don't make me use my blender once in a while-LOT easier clean-up

@Curleedst LOL! It wasn't a bad taste but I definitely liked the Caramel Matcha tea. I thin I will prepare that one like this and see.
